(like a child playing with publicity matches, accidentally setting the woods on fire, and now watching from a distance, hidden up in a tree, waiting to see what happens)

Things are crazy around here. The hits to the blog are still building, we have had several offers on the painting, as well as people interested in other work. Today I start teaching my mini semester (14 days/3 hours a day, a class I never taught before). I will be leaving for Miami Thursday evening.... I will miss the vernissage on Thursday night, because I am already getting a sub for my class on Friday, and I did not want to take off on the 2nd day of class as well.

I don't quite know what to expect at the fair... I am excited, but quite anxious as well. Slept 3 hours last night, working on my webpage to make clear which pieces are available, and which ones are in collections. It would appear that my response to stress, even "good" stress, is work.

Kate, I love the painting and I love even more what it says to me. This is very inspiring. The weird world of the celebrity cult fascinates me and repulses me at the same time. There is nothing stranger than the spaces, premises and concepts of the world we live in. I came to your blog from Perez Hilton's website - visiting his site is a perverse pleasure for me. He's showcasing your painting there today. Millions of people are seeing it. But most importantly, you have a vision. Thank you for your art.

Wow amazing, smart, and so many other things... I love it!! I wish I can someday paint as beautifully as you. I honestly thought that the walmart scene was a picture when I first saw your painting. I like the updates you posted of your painting.

This is the new "Virgin Mary in a Grilled Cheese Sandwich" only 10,000 times better. I only hope that this magnificent painting will soon come to the attention of the Golden Palace online casino, which paid a fortune for the sandwich.

See:

http://www.goldenpalaceevents.com/auctions/

It could tour with their world-famous collection of popular culture art so that thousands could see it in person.

I'm headed to Wal-Mart now to pray for a personal visitation.

Much love,

Mark

P. S. I beseech you to post a higher-resolution image of the painting so that millions may download, print and be inspired by it in their own homes and office cubicles.

With fondness and earnest supplication,

Mark

Good luck at the fair. I enjoy the painting. Do not let the simple minds of others get to you. A dream for many is that others can one day open their minds to understand that if you don't enjoy anothers work to just not look at it not send hate mail. Though I love art there are many works that I truly believe are gross or uncalled for but I do not believe I have the right to threaten the artist life that is just plane crimnal. For the truly God like they would never treat you this way for God would not want them to.

From a fellow artist who aspires to work like you. Congratulations on stirring up so much attention. It reminds me of so many great artists of the past. It took a single painting to get everyones attention, head scrathcews and the like.........then a wee lass here in Korea sees the link on yahoo and goes to your page..and now.....Im inspired by all your previous work~!!! How else could this have happened. Your New Virgin Mary is brilliant by the way. But I do rather love your tactile arts.
thank you
