I agree to a point. The way the art market is today, collectors are wielding an incredible amount of power, enough to validate the work that they have invested in through circuitous and not-so-circuitous ways.
Kate Kretz attended The Sorbonne in Paris, earned her BFA from SUNY Binghamton, and her MFA from The University of Georgia. She was BFA Director and an Associate Professor of Art at FIU in Miami for ten years. She currently works in her studio and gives lectures and workshops at various universities.

I am at the point where I think it can't be good (or good art) if it's popular. Jeff Koons is in that category. Just like CĂ©line Dion's music, his art is too popular for us to properly evaluate it at this time.
