In the Artforum diary, it appears that Rhonda Lieberman begins to see through Emperor Koon's clothes.....

I am at the point where I think it can't be good (or good art) if it's popular. Jeff Koons is in that category. Just like Céline Dion's music, his art is too popular for us to properly evaluate it at this time.

I agree to a point. The way the art market is today, collectors are wielding an incredible amount of power, enough to validate the work that they have invested in through circuitous and not-so-circuitous ways.
